Image Manager
The image manager allows you to upload new pictures for your web site. You can also organise your images into folders, and do basic image editing such as resizing and cropping with the image manager.

Accessing the image manager
The image manager is accessed by clicking the picture icon on the toolbar
![]()
or by clicking the existing image or placeholder for a standalone image.
Uploading an image
To upload a new image, click the upload icon.
The upload window will popup. Use the browse button to choose a file from your computer to upload. The "As file name" field will default to the name of the file on your computer, but you can type a new name if you like. Each file in a folder must have a unique name, so if you get an error message saying "a file with the specified name already exists," either change the "as file name" field, or you might want to delete the old file first if you're reuploading an image.
Then click the upload button to upload the image. Once the image has been uploaded, it will show below the buttons, and you can either repeat to upload another image, or click the cancel button to close the popup.
Selecting an image
To select an image, simply click on it. If the image is smaller than the box surrounding it, you need to make sure you click on the image itself.
Organising your images into folders
If you have a lot of images on your web site, it's a good idea to organise them in folders.

To create a new folder, click the Create folder icon. A popup window will ask you what you want to call the new folder. Enter the name and click Create.
You can open a folder you've created by using the folder icons on the left hand side of the image manager. When you upload a new image it will be saved to the currently open folder.
Deleting an image
If you make a mistake uploading, and need to re-upload an image, it's a good idea to delete the old image first, so that you can reuse the same filename. To delete an image, click the menu icon (a small arrow on the bottom right of each image) and select delete from the popup menu. A dialog box will ask you to confirm that you want to remove the file.
Editing an image - resizing, cropping, flipping, and rotating
The image manager also lets you do basic editing functions, such as resizing and cropping an image. If you don't have access to a graphics package such as Adobe Photoshop or Corel Paint Shop Pro, these can come in handy. (If you do have a dedicated graphics editor then I'd recommend using it rather than the image manager to process your images - it will be able to create the small file sizes recommended for the web, and will allow you much more control than the basic editing functions provided here.)
To access the image editing functions, click the menu icon on the bottom right of an image and choose edit.

A new window will popup with a toolbar that allows you to crop, resize, flip, or rotate the image.
