File Manager
The file manager allows you to upload new files to your web site, as well as inserting files you've already uploaded.
Note that for the best user experience you should avoid using downloadable files for your content unless you have a good reason for doing so. If you are going to upload files, then PDF is the preferred format for the web.
Topics:
Accessing the file manager
The file manager is accessed via the file browser icon.

This appears within the link popup for embedded files,
or next to the field name for a standalone file.
Uploading a file
To upload a new file, click the upload icon.
The upload window will popup. Use the browse button to choose a file from your computer to upload. The "As file name" field will default to the name of the file on your computer, but you can type a new name if you like. Each file in a folder must have a unique name, so if you get an error message saying "a file with the specified name already exists," either change the "as file name" field, or you might want to delete the old file first if you're reuploading a file.
Then click the upload button to upload the file. Once the file has been uploaded, it will show below the buttons, and you can either repeat to upload another file, or click the cancel button to close the popup.

Currently you can upload PDF files (.pdf), Word Documents (.doc), Excel Spreadsheets (.xls), and ZIP files (.zip). (Some sites also have the facility to play mp3 files, but this is not part of the standard installation.)
Selecting a file
The easiest way to select a file, is to double click the filename.
